Pictorial Rugs

Pictorial rugs and carpets range from the ornamental hand knotted Persian rugs and Tibeten Tapestries that can feature scenes from history and are made of silk and wool to the modern polypropylene rugs that represent images such as cars, butterflies to city scenes and flags.
Hand knotted Pictorial rugs are also known as a Tableau Rugs, Carpet Tableau or Rug Tableau. The original tableau rug, also known as a pictorial carpet has no record of when it was originally weaved, but some of the old rugs back in 19th and 20th century show that the similar type design were used such as Hunting scenes in Isfahan or Qum carpets as well as floral designs in Isfahan and Tabriz carpets.
